RS800 - Day 4

 

Going into the final day Carnac has already provided an excellent mix of conditions with 2 full on 20 knot blast days and 2 equally testing blue sky medium wind days. Two races remain on Friday and whilst Ben McGrane & Olivier Vidal 'Selden' have sealed the championship with a string of top 4 finishes several close battles are unfolding throughout the fleet.

John Pink & Jonny Clegg 'Synthesize' currently hold second with 16pts having scuppered their chances of drawing equal for the lead on day 3 with a gear failure DNF and a port tack flier OCS. Only a couple of points behind in 3rd with 18pts are Alan Olive & Guy Fillmore 'Harken' with the possibility of a bit of tactical play against the Jonnys in the last 2 races.

                       

A big contest is developing for 4th with Neil Baker & James Hughes on 30pts, a 3 way tie on 33 pts between Peter Barton & Roz Allen 'Marlow', Justin  Deal & Ollie Page and Tom Halhead & Christian Humphrey. Only a few points behind are the new kids on the block, Tim Saxton & Nicola Groves 'Zhik', who have been improving at an incredible rate over the past month.
