Since 1987, the community of sporting catamaran enthusiast has an inevitable meeting in Carnac. Coming from all France and from the whole world, whether they are amateurs or professional of very high-level, coming from sports schools or sailing occasionally, all this enthusiasts make this pilgrimage in Quiberon Bay and also give to sailing world a resounding proof of the dynamism of sporting catamaran. Of course, for the constructors and the professionals of high-level, a victory in Eurocat is important and a real recognition. In fact, first international test of the season, it is an opportunity to discover the novelties and to judge the level of each and the dynamism of the different classes. For all the enthusiasts of catamaran, the Eurocat is also the assurance to have a good time afloat and ashore, to race with determination between three buoys and to do a raid in Quiberon Bay and around Houat and to store superb pictures and wonderful memories for the rest of the season;

No doubt that, whether the predilection's classes, from the F18 to the Dart 18 as well as the HC16, the SL15,5, SL16, Viper, Spitfire and so many others, all the enthusiasts will be present in Carnac and so will direct a strong sign to the ISAF who, a week later the Eurocat would have to assent to the return of the catamaran to the Olympic Games, probably in mixed crew. For this occasion, to highlight the culture of the diversity of the crews of sporting catamaran, the Yacht Club of Carnac will reward the first mixed crew at the ranking in F18, in C1 and in C3. On these two latter, the conflict would be hot between the Vipers, the Spitfires ans the Mattia and also between the HC16, the Dart18 and the SL.

Falling during the Easter Holidays, as the last year, the small catamaran, the C4 (Tyka, Dragoon and so many others), will have there own start and their own raid. Catamaran's celebration, the Eurocat is also the mixing of the generations which gives her this dimension so particular and unique.

Finally, only test of this scale to suggest technical courses and a raid, the Eurocat would not be what she is without the tour of Houat's island. The show, the conjuring and the shiver of the start with more than 150 boats form a part of the raid's legend. Since last year, we wanted to reward the first of the scratch ranking. Thus, in 2010, the very new Nacra F20 had impressed establishing a new time record of 2 hours 30 minutes and 26 seconds to finish the tour of Houat Island in soft conditions and to win the line honour. Will the record be beaten this year ? Bets are opened.
